Dr. Christian Jany

Studies in German Literature and Cultural Studies at Humboldt University Berlin and, as assistant to Prof. Peter Uwe Hohendahl, at Cornell University. Master's degree at Humboldt University with a thesis on Rilke's "Notebooks of Malte Laurids Brigge". From September 2009 until January 2015 Ph.D. student at the Department of German at Princeton University. During the academic year 2012/2013, research stay at ETH Zurich. Ph.D. at Princeton University with a thesis on scenographies of perception in literature and philosophy, supervised by Prof. Claudia Brodsky and Prof. Brigid Doherty. From 2015 until 2023 postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Literary and Cultural Studies at ETH Zurich, since March 2023 as lecturer. In addition, associate member of the Center for the History of Knowledge (ZGW) until its dissolution in 2021.
